Pioneer Care
Pay as you go
Some patients prefer a pay-as-you-go option with Pioneer Care, offering the flexibility to attend a single visit with a written treatment plan for their local provider or to book follow-up appointments as needed to monitor their progress.
Pioneer Care Packages
A patient may prefer to book a package of care that includes a full assessment and a series of follow-up appointments tailored to their goals, (whether it’s healing, pain reduction, improved mobility, or enhanced quality of life) with the treatment plan and objectives reviewed and adjusted as their condition evolves.
*Compression therapy i.e. stockings/garments are not included in the Pay As You Go option but can be purchased separately if required (at cost).
Some patients prefer to book a package of care which includes the full assessment detailed above a series of subsequent appointments that, in our experience, would be adequate to heal or optimise the patient. Goals vary between people, some aiming to get their condition under control or achieving healing whereas some patients want to reduce pain or achieve an improvement in mobility or quality of life. The treatment plan and patient goals are reviewed at each appointment and changed/updated as the patients condition responds to the treatments delivered.

Leg ulcer healing package – see what's included
The aim of a leg ulcer package is to achieve healing or as close to this as possible. At Pioneer we achieve an average healing rate for leg ulcers of 90% within 3 months at our clinics.
A leg ulcer care package allows Pioneer to:
- Get to know the patient, their goals and aspirations for healing and to provide psychological support and encouragement when needed
 - Implement the best treatments from day 1 and observe over time the impact of this on the patients’ leg ulcer healing
 - Regularly assess pain and recommend how this can be improved
 - To regularly remove devitalised tissue that prevents healing
 - Monitor and treat wound bacteria levels
 - Use advanced treatments/ therapies that might not be available for patients elsewhere such as chemical treatment of bacteria, laser therapy etc
 - Provide ongoing education on the condition and hints and tips that can help

All the tests and scans, dressings/bandages and all advanced therapies are included. An online appointment with a Pioneer Dietitian is also included (optional).
Compression therapy i.e. stockings/garments to last the patient for 6 months after the package ends are included in the packages. Although rare, if a patient requires garments to be specially made for them, then an additional charge will apply.

1) Non complex:
2) Complex:
The Pioneer Complex Leg Ulcer Healing Care Package is most suited to patients who have multiple ulcers on one or both legs. This package includes up to 20 appointments within 3 months.
